There is one shelter house in the East Park which has a covered area for extra tables. Across a covered bridge is the West Park. The West Shelter House will be available to rent starting in 2017. This shelter is also a community tornado shelter. Both Shelter Houses have a refrigerator and plenty of plug-ins so you can bring crock pots and keep your food hot. Ceiling fans have been installed also. There is AC in the West Shelter. There are bathroom facilities at each park. Consumption of alcohol is not allowed on City properties.
Arrangements need to be made with the City Office to use the Shelter Houses. They are open to the public on a first-come-first-served basis from April 15 through October 15. There is a $25, non-refundable fee for the key. You have to come to the City Office to pay and get the key during office hours..
